Currently in the news in the socialist.. sorry.. welfare state of Finland where there is no corruption.
The vice mayor of city of Helsinki, and former minister at parliament, is suspected of a crime. It seems that vice mayors friend got a building permit and built a new two apartment house to some prime location. The area around the house contains some 5 public parks, arboretum and some old luxury/summer residences including a house for prime minister and the president. New house production in the area has been somewhat rare for past century. Questions were raised over how did they got a building permit.
Police is investigating and I'm sure that they will find that this is just malicious rumors from those who were not lucky enough to get a plot and permit from the area. Or someone is just throwing some public slander just under the eve of next public election vote in coming Sunday. I'm sure that the investigation clears the topic in a moment and news papers can move onto more productive topics, like discussing if the somewhat sea-container look of this new house is good or bad for the old villa style neighborhood.
P.S. Since these semi-regular updates from the socialist.. sorry.. welfare state of Finland are bit off topic to original thread, maybe some Admin (@Steverino ) could split the thread, name it to "News from socialist.. sorry.. welfare state of Finland" (for example) and park it to off-topic.
