So is your local dealer completely incompetent and says no such update exists, or you just don't feel like wasting a morning at the dealer getting the update? And fear they will screw up and not update anything and waste 3 hours for nothing? If that's the case, this DIY update is just for you!

Multiple Bolt owners have reported back saying they've done the update themselves. Takes about 12-15 minutes once the USB is inserted and you start the installation process.

A much easier way to get 14.4.2 update

I read an article on Electrek and followed the steps to download the 14.4.2 update zip file directly onto a USB device and installed the update successfully. The best thing is that this update also activated the OTA feature on the Bolt so that there is no need to use USB or go to the dealer for future updates.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to include the link to the article so I have attached a screenshot for information.

The software update feature had always been there. It's just not activated yet.
