about to purchase two Continental True Contact tires from Discount Tire Direct. Should I bother with their warranty for an additional $32? If it were the OEM tires I would because of the posts here on the weak sidewalls but these tires don't seem to have that kind of feedback. warranty for tire is 90,000.

For me, the obvious answer is, "nope"

Protip for buying at Discount Tire, buy one tire certificate (what they call their tire warranty) and it will cover all your tires. No need to purchase for both tires. That will save you money and will still give you unlimited flat repair and free rotations and balancing. It's also noteworthy that if you irreparably damage a tire, they will replace it with a brand new tire. I have bought these certificates before and have had to have tires replaced by them. I think it's worth it, but that's just my opinion.

Continental tires have a manufacturer warranty that covers road hazzard. No need to buy extra protection. They covered a sidewall bulge (due to pothole) with a free replacement tire. Just had to fill out a warranty claim form and take it to any random tire store to get the new tire installed. The tire store just verifies the info and the tire damage and makes a phone call to Continental.

At the location I use, they won't let you buy one certificate when buying multiple tires. I never buy any warranties for anything, except I do buy these certificates and have used them on at least a few occasions. It really depends on conditions of roads you drive, and how just luck of the draw in terms of whether this makes sense. In hindsight I have not regretted getting the certificates.
