I want to disable Onstar for the Volt and had a quick question.

I know ideally you want to do this type of hack, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAbTy_jFcbc

But if I just unplug the fuse, will I just lose bluetooth as I do not use it, but instead plug my phone into the car.

Another question that I have is, will the microphone still work when I make calls, and use the GPS, etc?

Maybe he wants to "borrow" a Volt and disable the OnStar tracking so the "lender" won't know where he is. lol

I tried that when I was trying to get the date to stay right in my gen 1. You lose the microphone and cannot talk to anyone who calls, although you can hear them. It didn't fix the date either. Still always 1 day ahead. I guess Hal is on a permanent future trip! I think to disable Onstar without losing the microphone you have to unplug the Onstar module, which I THINK is in back somewhere. Too much trouble. And then they gave me 3 free years of basic, which is very basic, only key fob functions.
