Sorry if this has been posted (I did search)... how can I disable the OnStar traffic alerts? They are not only annoying, but pointless as they always tell me there is "traffic ahead" while I'm in traffic.

Since there is always traffic on my commute, the alert is occurring every day and make me want to stab the screen.

I looked throughout the menus and couldn't find anything that would disable the alerts.

The traffic alerts are part of the SiriusXM Traffic/Travel-link package. If you subscribe to it, you can probably cancel. If you are still within your free trial period, probably best to wait for the trial to expire.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't an option in the nav or traffic screen to disable the alerts though.

In the Navigation menu, going to Traffic->Traffic Types allows you to turn on and off individually warnings about traffic delays, road construction, road closures and advisories.

I remember getting weather alerts from XM. The funniest was high surf advisories. If I was driving on Daytona beach, thanks for the heads up.
