Hi, I recently purchased a used 2014 Chevy Volt and I'd like to know if anyone here from the Seattle-area has any dealerships they recommend going to or avoiding. I'm dealing with a heater issue right now and the two dealerships I've talked to so far haven't inspired confidence: Specifically, I bought it at Good Chev in Renton, and I called Bill Pierre Chev in Lake City, Seattle since they're close to me and had mostly good reviews for their service department.

Mainly, I'd like to know about dealerships that seem to be very knowledgeable about working on EVs and PHEVs, with bonus points if they've helped fix a heater issue that the Volts seem to be plagued with. However, I'd also take into consideration good/bad experiences with any GM vehicle.

I live in Northgate, Seattle and would be willing to drive up to an hour (with average traffic) if I knew a dealership would treat me well and service my car properly, but of course I'd prefer for a place closer if possible.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I've been happy with Burien Chevrolet for service issues, and this is also where I purchased my 2013 Volt. Coincidental to your heater issues, they fixed a heater issue for me (under my extended warranty). The only thing though is that the Volt technicians do not seem to be available on weekends. So for me this means I need to take time off work in order to have the Volt serviced for anything other than standard fluid changes or tire rotations.

We purchased our 2012 Volt from Lee Johnson Chevrolet in Kirkland, and have no complaints with the service department, but I don't think heater problems were indicative of the 2012's, and we didn't have heater problems.

We had Chevrolet of Everett change our leaking battery radiator and front air dam after hitting a raccoon. We've had no problems with the repairs. They were great to communicate with and picked us up at the ferry when the car was ready. I believe they said they had 2 Volt Technicians. The one that worked on our 2014 came out and explained everything he did.
All in all, a very good experience.

I bought my Volt at Chuck Olson Chevrolet, just to the North of you. They did fix a heater issue when the car was less than a month old where I was not getting any heat in EV mode. They reprogrammed a heater control module or something like that and I haven't had the problem since. I was only in Seattle for 4 months in 2013 so didn't have too much experience with their service dept, but it seemed decent to me at the time.
