Got my first view of a false bridge forward collision alert FCA. I know these false collision alerts are well known, however I wonder if anyone at GM would be interested a collection of them for more real world feedback to help improve the software?

g meter upper right shows minimal disturbance, no complaints, just wondering if more feedback could help to further improve FCA.

FAB was probably not active - over 37 mph at the time of alert.

I have gotten a few "false positives" FCA warnings on my 2017. Annoying yes, harmful no. Of the two choices I'd rather be annoyed than harmed.

But like all technology I'm sure it will be tweaked and improved over time. While I hope GM will release OTA updates to the software ala Tesla. But the 2018 versions most likely will get improvements.

I noticed the sun in the rear and the alert at the bridge shadow. (looked it up - Sun altitude ~28 degrees, azimuth ~229 deg.) I think this is similar to the lighting condition I had at another bridge false fca some months back.

I wonder if the detection is entirely the outside lighting conditions and changing view, or if there could be some additional factor, like a light path from the rear window somehow reflected inside the cabin? Maybe unlikely with the forward facing camera port.

Some systematic false alarms might be avoided or minimized by improvements. Or, it might take different or additional sensors, so maybe GM just did the best they could.

I have had a similar experience in my 2013 on several occasions. One such occasion, the FCA went off 3 times in a row due to multiple overpasses.
