I picked up my new 2018 Volt LT this week.

Why new? Because new is the same price as used. My Volt was $35455 MSRP. It is an LT with leather and comfort package. Dealer knocked off $4000. Also there is the $7500 rebate. Plus $700 back from GM through Costco's new Holiday Sales event. So a new 2018 Volt with $1500 of options can be had for $23255. Used 2016 or 2017 models with 10000 or 20000 miles on them go for similar money. Therefore, new is the only way to go.

Furthermore, 2018 models have the same MSRP as 2017 models. So 2018 is the way to go if your dealer won't give you a great discount on a 2017, because down the road you will own something one model year newer.

And when the $7500 rebate is lost, which could be on Dec 31, the price of used cars might look like a deal.

That's great deal. When I bought mine in Sept., they were discounting 2018.

More like the price of the car will drop 7500 ( MSRP ), kind of like the 2013 model had 5K knocked off the price mid-year
