Built in the frankly quite uninspiring Prius platform
Don’t get it , if Toyota think
Hybrids are that relevant what’s going on with GM frankly abandoning their vastly superior ‘red headed stepchild’ Volt ?? ....

A Corolla sedan hybrid makes sense. Prius sales are down, switch things up and give people the option of a sedan with Prius like fuel economy. The more interesting option for 2019 is the Prius with optional AWD. A 10HP electric motor on the rear axle that can help get your Prius up a hilly road that has a light covering of snow.

Couldn’t GM have added this second axle motor easily enough to the Volt ?

I honestly don’t get the whole ‘sedan v hatchback’ thing , both have 4 doors both are versatile in their own way.... I happen to prefer the rarer hatchback ( of the Volt) . Still doesn’t satisfy my curiosity if are hybrids still relevant , The Asian manufacturers seem to think so .... so why not the American ones ??
