My 2015 Chevy Volt didn't come with a backup camera. I added a rear view mirror that has both driving/recording and backup recording as well as a display when backing up.
It requires a constant 12-volt power and switched power. I have the wires ran to the driver's side front fuse box but I can't figure out which fuses to connect to. I used a volt meter and found 2 fuses that seem to work fine. After a few days, the check engine light came on. I called OnStar and they said they were unable to troubleshoot and asked if I had installed any aftermarket device. I disconnected the rearview mirror, called them back and they were able to read the code. The only code they found was P1E00. They didn't see any other codes. So I am guessing the rearview mirror caused it to kick the code.
So, does anyone know which fuses I can connect safely to, without causing issues with the electrical system?
