Yesterday an excavator working on the pipeline accidentally ruptured it and started a fire. The pipeline has been closed, which is what caused the September gas shortage in the Southeast. Prices are expected to rise. No word yet on whether there will be shortages at the pump like in September.

Another reminder of why cars with multiple fuel sources are nice to have.

When people discuss the cost of driving on gasoline vs. the cost of driving on electricity, they don't usually think about these kinds of costs, not to mention the lives lost in this and similar incidents.
