I work for the railroad and leave my car sit for up to 2 days at a time while I'm away at for work. On several occasions last winter it got well below 0 and I had no issues starting my car when I got back.
I have a 2014 Volt and in december of 2014 I parked it at DIA (Denver Intl) for 7 days. When I got back it was 10 pm and -20F(and had been very cold for a few days). I could not remote start the car from the onstar app, I did start it with the keyfob. I did get the message that I needed to plug in to warm, but the ICE started fine (it was rough). I think sport and hold mode were grayed out. I drove to pick up the rest of the party and by the time I made on lap of the airport, the battery was allowed to come back online. I do not know if power was reduced because the Speed limit was 25mph.
