Another Henry J. Kaiser story, maybe?
I don't see much profit in the Model 3. Tesla does not have the luxury to spread over multiple brands the substantial costs of a creating a new platform, as do the big manufacturers.
What I do see is the Model 3 cutting into sales of Tesla's high profit margin offerings, the Model S and X. Even with delays in getting it out into consumer hands - just the presence of the Model 3 as being officially available even though it is not so in reality is enough to chop into S & X sales. This is not a sustainable scenario.
