Has GM let slip that CPI is the choice?

The bio of GM "battery czar" Denise Gray that Lyle posted a link to (http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/aug08/6488/4) has a photo of "The battery pack that will be used for the Chevrolet Volt". The pack in the photo is black. All the previously posted Volt battery pack photos I've seen show black CPI packs and silver Continental packs.

Is the pack in the photo from CPI? Does the author (John Voelcker) really know that is the chosen pack? It may be that GM just wanted to show the relative size of Volt packs to EV-1 packs and the black pack made a more contrasting photo subject.

I don't know the real answer, but it is intriguing to wonder whether GM accidentally tipped their hand on the big decision.

Or maybe the other silver battery packs were being used in mules. Perhaps these were available because they were not being used for anything. Ouch.
