My 2013 Volt occasionally emits a subtle clicking noise when I am making a right turn. The sound is coming from the front left wheel. The car is going around 20 mpg, and the click frequency is like half a second. It seems to happen on the 2nd half of the turn, as I am coming out of the turn.
It doesn't always happen. Making a right turn at higher speed does not necessarily trigger the noise. No noise when the car is traveling straight (all speed, including highway), and slowing down on L. The noise seems to happen on some particular right turns at ~20 miles.
Could this be the wheel bearing? on my previous cars when there is bearing failure, the noise is usually more pronounced at higher speed and more consistently even when car is traveling straight. CV joint?
Is something like this covered under the 60,000 mi powertrain warranty?
