I figured a hose clamp is not positioned well and digging into the plastic cover of the drive unit. At 3k miles it made a deep enough ditch for me worry about the future. Maybe it is my bad luck but do check if yours is the same way. Below photos are after I turned it away.
I can't see the pictures yet, so this may be obvious once they are visible, but what is the fix? Just loosen a hose clamp, rotate it, and then tighten again?
