Once again, Vancouver has decided to tax the crap out of us.

With the highest gas prices in North America, those of us who decided enough was enough have now been slapped by the city again.

Now electric chargers in Vancouver come with a $16 user fee, PLUS the cost of the meter, PLUS the cost of the electricity.

This makes it far cheaper to drive and park a gas vehicle who only has to pay the meter.

Luckily, you have a Volt. Take advantage of that by NOT using the charging stations. Vote no by withholding your $.

Source?

Last time I read an article on Vancouver's rates it simply stated that the cost for DC fast charging would be $16 per hour (Canadian Dollars) [about ~$12 USD]. Plus the standard cost to park any car. Which would be quite reasonable for a 50KW DCFC.

$16 plus a cost per KWh would be unreasonable.
