Have an electrician install a 240v outlet, no different than any other 240 outlet like for an electric clothes dryer. Depending on whether you plan on buying more EV's in the future, have the wiring sized for a 40A breaker. The Volt needs only a 20A circuit, but the incremental cost to wire it for more amps is small. After wiring it for 40A, the actual breaker size (20A, 30A, or 40A) depends on the EVSE you buy.
If you wire for 40A you can buy any plugin 240V EVSE you want and simply plug it into the outlet (and using the appropriate size breaker).
If you already have a 240V outlet for a clothes dryer in the garage, well, you may be near finished.
