The 2017 Chevy Bolt EV is still gathering awards from famous publications, and this week it was the "Popular Mechanics Car of the Year":

"But for the way most people really use their cars, the Bolt answers their needs while injecting an unexpected dose of fun. As good as it looks on paper, the Bolt is actually better to drive. And that's why it's our Car of the Year."

Great job, GM!!

I've had my Bolt one month as of today, I've put 1,300mi on it so far.... it's an absolute blast to drive each and every trip.

Luckily, there seems to be only one major issue with the Bolt (for some owners)... the front seats- and that can be addressed easily.

A great car to be sure, but almost a sales dud. (yes, it's early, but still.....) Time for a SALE, Chevy!
It's improving every month...
Dec, Jan, Feb and Mar: $2500 CCR...
Apr: $3500 CCR...
May: $3500 CCR and eligible for a $500 military incentive...
Jun: ???

The dealership where I bought my Bolt a month ago called yesterday afternoon to see how I liked the Bolt and if there were any issues.
I asked my salesman, who is the dealer's Bolt Specialist if they sold any Bolts yet besides mine.... "nope".
This is the only dealership on LI offering $3k off MSRP, one other dealer is discounting $1K off MSRP, all the others are full MSRP. If my dealer sold only one Bolt with that large discount in 30 days... I cant imagine the other area dealers selling any Bolts at all.

Not good!

Remember it's still not available in all States yet. Only when it's fully available can you really gauge the customer response. Most people aren't willing to purchase from another State and have it shipped.

I mean, I'll be routing that the Bolt EV rollout to Alaska and North Dakota will increase sales ten fold, but the reality is population alone doesn't sell vehicles, demand does, and CARB/ZEV states have the most EV demand...

“Nearly 50% of US plug-in sales are still in California. The other 9 states with ZEV mandates (CT, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT) stand for 13%. The data shows the accumulated sales between January 2011 and October 2016.

“The 10 ZEV states typically have a combined 28% of the total vehicle market but their share in plug-in sales is around 62%. In 2015/2016, the plug-in share in the 10 ZEV states was 4–5 times higher than in the US states without ZEV targets. With nationwide PEV adoption like in the ZEV states, plug-in sales would be 2 times or more of what they are today.”

The good news for the Bolt is that CA did pass a gas tax...
