Hi all,
I officially took delivery of my 2013 Chevrolet Volt Premium yesterday from Jim Ellis Chevrolet in Atlanta. There are multiple things I want to say, so just bear with me.

The Delivery Experience

Kudos to Bill and the other staff at Jim Ellis for making this the best experience I've had at a dealership. It was easy and relatively painless. They were able to get the paperwork done and approved by a bank in 2 hours. The actual delivery (prep, etc) took an hour. While the car was under final prep, Bill went over the items in the dealer jacket with me (CPO Inspection report, etc). I also verified the presence of the charger, etc. If you're in the Atlanta area or can come here, give Jim Ellis a try.

OnStar

I had my welcome call with OnStar as well. I completed my profile and because I was a new customer, OnStar gave me two additional months free. The OnStar rep was very helpful and friendly. OnStar is useful to me, and the app works well. It takes time to refresh, but is easy to use.

SiriusXM

I had SiriusXM in one of my other vehicles, so I love it already. Well worth the cost. I like the traffic alerts feature (NavTraffic)as well.It seems to know what's going on in Atlanta at least.

The Driving Experience

The car is smooth as silk, really. Even when the engine is running, I can barely hear it. It takes some getting used to. I also have to remember to use the pedestrian horn in parking lots, etc. Otherwise the pedestrians will walk straight into my car. Cyclists apparently have a hard time with it too (had a guy almost hit me with bicycle trying to squeeze between me and another car). My grandmother likes this car as well, though she says it takes getting used to. We will see what my fiancee has to say about it soon as well. I love the fact that I have barely burned any gas (I burned some yesterday due to the long drive).

Service

I go back today to pick up my tags and get the camera looked at (its very grainy). In addition, my sceond key is not working with the vehicle. I will report back on my service experience soon.

I bought my new 2012 Volt from Jim Ellis in Atlanta, in October 2011. I also had a good buying experience, just like described in the original post. The service department experience has also been quite good.

The Service Advisor, Kim, just called and let me know the Volt Specialist was unavailable today, but that they could still fix my key. I will talk to Bellamy Strickland about the camera (they are 5 miles from my house). I need to go pick up my tags so the key issue will be solved soon.

congratulations, after 2 years and 45,000 miles it is still a great car!
Thank you for the info you have provided. It helped me greatly yesterday (and before) during the delivery process. It helps newbies like me understand the Volt a lot better.

I thought maybe your Volt came with the Amazing Spiderman special edition package. ;)

Great snapshot of your initial impressions, by the way. Congrats!

I think it would be red and blue then, but GM would find a way to say it is a premium paint. That would mean an extra 500 bucks.
