I have a 2013 Volt and am moving into a condo with L6-30 outlets in the parking garage. I'll get the ClipperCreek LCS-30P if it's the only/safest option, but I'd prefer to not shell out half a G...

You won't go wrong with any Clipper Creek unit. Where you might have problems is with the condo board. Make sure you have written approval to use one of those outlets for charging before you buy an EVSE.

Are you wanting to future proof your evse or would an lcs20 do the job for your needs? A bit cheaper if it would suffice.

You mean the "LCS-20P, Plug-in 16 Amp EVSE, 25 ft charging cable with NEMA L6-30 plug" @ $375? Yeah, that's a nice $130 savings over the LCS-30P. Hard to tell from the listing what it's differences are to the LCS-30P. Do you know? I get the 16A vs 24A, but is it still Level 2?
