Just a quick question, just wondering how much effort on the part of GM would it take to change the charging status indicator(for Gen1 models) to function the same way as the new Gen 2 volts. I think the new way of displaying the charging is much better.

They'll never do it, because all the owners manuals etc. have it documented the current way.

Best thing to do is pick up a charging reference magnet so other drivers know how to decode your car's indicator

Theoretically it could be done with a software update.

But yeah, it will never happen.
