Hi,

anyone there with the charging port door not opening at low temp ( below 0 celcius) ? Mine has been not opening when the outdoor temp is below freezing, i put the car in the garage and within 5 min, no problem opening!
This is a new problem, it was working fine until new year !
any suggestion?

The answer for Gen1 was yes - everyone, but I'm not so sure about Gen2. Try making sure the rubber seals are dry and spraying them with silicone. A freeze/dry cycle can wet them and then stick the door shut, the same as a passenger door or trunk.

it seems to be the 'spring' not responding the same way with cold weather, there is no ice formation and the rubber seals are fine. This push mechanism does not seem robust.

Model year would help. Never had an issue with my 2014 since new.

Is there ice build up? If so, there are some after market products that can help. I have not used this but others here on the forum might comment if your issue might also be related to ice.
