Tried searching for this info and couldn't find anything.

I see comments on orange and black charging cords. What is the difference, is it a recall by GM.

How long is the charging cord. My car will park in one of three spots. The closest is used by management and I don't think she'll give it easily.

You can use a heavy-duty extension cord with the Volt charging cord to add at least a few car spaces in length.

I also use a short heavy duty extension cord plugged into a 20 amp outlet at work. Our black corded L1 charger works fine.
The orange corded unit that was used before this one had the plug fail. Our dealership replaced under warranty.

The portion of the cord being referred to is the short cord from the wall plug to the EVSE. The cord from the EVSE to the car J-1772 plug has always been orange. It has been nearly 5 years since the swap was implemented.

*Always orange for the older cords only.
2013+ are all black, 15ft.

Just splurge and buy an L2 for your garage and put the L1 in the trunk. I find I rarely use it, but it's a good backup just in case the L2 fries.

Some orange cords were recalled, but not all.

Regarding length, great question. I'd bet my 2012 Charge Cord is about 25'

units with orange box-to-wall cords were recalled, and replaced with black and black corded units. Units with black cords to the box, and orange cords to the car are okay.
