Hey all, I am assuming I should not submerge it in water or anything, but are there any weatherproofing issues I should be aware of with the charging cord? Or is it pretty impervious to rain and snow?

The one thing to look out for is ice buildup around the charging port during snow. It can build up enough to stop the charge door from latching.

Funny thing if you can submerge the plug portion into a bucket of water and nothing will happen - no sparks, no excitement, nothing. Basically the EVSE and car have to talk to each other and check that everything is safe before the electrons flow. Just keep debris from gumming up the plug/socket. I actually had a big moth get squashed once because he was attracted to the LED light at the end of my EVSE cable. Air compressor and a few bursts fixed that.
