GM recommends keeping it plugged in. I unplug mine after I charge it, usually use it two or three times a week. My Volt sits outside the garage doors under a lean to and the EVSE is inside so the 1.5/2.0 hours it usually take me to charge it, I leave the garage door open for the cord. I'll probably do the same in winter. It rarely freezes around here and if it does usually a few degrees below freezing over night. Why don't I park it in the garage? Two restoration projects take up the spaces.
