I have a 2014 on reserve at Carvana right now and it's pictures just were posted but it's got the white trim, that's a deal breaker for me as I really dislike the look.

I've see a few threads here about people wanting to change the center stack and other trim plastics to/from white to black but, other than a single poster that did the simulated woodgrain overlay, I've not seen that anyone actually has done it.

Has anyone? How hard was it?

I wanted dark, but ended up with white instead. I thought it would bother me, but I got used to it quickly and like it. And it is very easy to read, which is a complaint of the dark.

I think some have changed it, and I don't think it is very hard for the center stack. But as you said, there are other matching pieces, such as on the sides of the display that sits behind the steering wheel, and the gear shift handle. I think once you factor in finding and buying all of the relevant pieces and installation for each one, it is probably a job you would want to avoid.

If that REALLY makes it a deal breaker, why reserve it ??

I reserved before the pictures were taken and am now letting reservation go.

(I talked to them yesterday and they said they'd remove the reservation but it hasn't happened yet - it will auto-lapse tonight anyway though)

The chrome at the top of my stack has deteriorated on my 2013. I thought it would be relatively simple to s change the trim piece. Wrong. I was told by the dealer that it required replacing the entire unit, with a parts cost of nearly $800. I'm living with the problem. When I can't stand it anymore, my plan is to get some black vinyl tape and cover the chrome.

The good thing about Carvana is that if you don't like a particular Volt there will be a dozen more posted in a week, they sell the snot out of these cars.

As a side note, I had a 2014 Volt (base) reserved with them and almost completed the paperwork. The following day at work I did an Autotrader search an a 2013 premium with fewer miles popped up at a local dealer at a price almost $4000 less.

Carvana is a convenient service but you pay for that convenience. Keep looking and you'll find the perfect car for you.
