I noticed this evening that my center console screen was glowing. The car was plugged in and had attached full charge a few minutes before I noticed the screen. I entered the car, turned it on, then off, and a minute or two after exiting the car, the screen went dark. Is this normal??? (We did have a power interruption 30 minutes before I noticed the screen due to a thunderstorm.)

Completely normal. That is the back light for the LCD screen. It is the first to turn on and the last to turn off when you are in and out of the car.

Fun fact: the backlight for the dashboard stays on even when you're not in the car if the headlights are on (e.g. when you unlock the car). This is to display the "headlight" icon on the dash, even though the rest of the dash is usually blank when all the doors are closed.
