Well we knew it was coming, but it is now officially reminded to us.

We got our California DMV notice that all Green and White CAV decal expire January 1st 2019.

No more HOV lane for us, it was nice while it lasted, bummer...

As you approach a certain level of market penetration and the HOV fills up, the point of an HOV lane becomes meaningless. Not saying we're there now but there comes a time.

I bought a 2019 and sold my '17 to my mom in AZ. Basically bought my way back in.

I just sent my renewal in for the Red stickers to replace the Green ones. If you purchased the vehicle after Jan '18, you are eligible for the Red ones that will last until 2022.
Since I purchased in February, I was lucky enough to get the Red stickers.
Who knows what changes will happen in the future? Sooner or later, there will be more alternate fuel vehicles than ICE ones. Probably a long ways off.
BTW, saw the video for the new Camaro Electric vehicle. Looks like a winner.
