That's a safety design feature of the Volt software. When you are driving, you are only given a short list of options from your library - they don't want you scrolling through long lists when your attention should be on operating the vehicle. I guess VW are not so safety conscious!

The same is true of the built in navigation option - you cannot type in an address when the car is in 'drive'. In that case you can put in an address using the voice system when the car is in 'drive'. Perhaps there is a similar option for using voice commands to choose something specific on your Apple library list.

Same with Android Auto on the Volt. When the car is not in park, scrolling lists are limited to the first few options after which a message displays on screen to put the car in park to scroll further.

It's not a bug, it's a feature :)

Thank you for the info. Anyway to go by-pass this "*feature*"??
No, it's hard baked. Only way to bypass this feature is to place your car in park or use voice to pick a specific song. I'm fine with just using the seek options and playing my songs randomly.

Glad someone brought this up. Drove me crazy my first couple weeks trying to figure out WHY only some of my music and podcasts would show up SOME of the time. I thought there was something wrong.

However, any of those geniuses realize that this so-called "safety" feature only encourages the masses to pick up their phone to get what they are looking for? Just saying...

Well, those geniuses do what they can to make things safer, but they aren't your nanny, so you have the option to be less safe if you insist.
