I was reading the article and thinking "okay, good article but nothing I didn't already know but thanks" and THEN I realized that all of the illustrations were of a Gen 1 Volt.

Hah, that's awesome. Unfortunately I'm sure the majority of people think it's just some generic car. Those somewhat familiar with car styling may see the Chevy resemblance.

Maybe it's a subliminal thing. As more people see it without the branding, they'll start to gravitate to it for no real reason other than it "seems familiar". BAM! Sell.

Except they go to the dealership, and cannot find it because of the gen2 style change. Although the gen2 took some styling cues from the gen1, it really looks like a Honda with a big ass Toyota grill. It certainly didn't make me jump out and want to get one. Yes, I can use the extra range, but not the deeper hole in the pocketbook. Saving my pennies for what's next.

Agreed. Hopefully it plays a subliminal factor in increasing used Gen 1 purchases. Once they get a taste, they'll never go back...

This is so tempting but also so expensive. Around me I've been getting $500 but that includes paint correction (whatever that means). For just a hand-wash and wax and full interior detail, quotes have been about $125.

"Paint correction" usually means they fix the swirls and such in your paint, sometimes it means they'll do a limited amount of "chip repair" too.
