I'm researching installing a rear-view camera on a MY2013 (to be bought in the next month or so) and have found a number of threads, like this one "How-To-Add-A-Backup-Camera-To-Your-OEM-Radio-W-Pictures" (sorry, can't link as i'm too new...) but most of the posted how-to images aren't showing for me. i see just a graphic icon. and in at least one case i see a video link referenced but there's no link. now, granted, it's an old thread and vid links can expire but i would think the images would still be there.

i've have seen that newbies can't see some hidden content until they have 10 posts. this is number two for me. i try to research first so i don't ask something that's been repeatedly well answered.

so what's up? what setting do i have to change to see the images? i've tried this on two different browsers and even turned off ad-block in case that was an issue.

Thanks, BillG. when i checked this thread last night from my phone i could see video links and i think all undead images. oddly enough, i'm looking on my desktop now and what i could see on my phone is still not visible from my desktop. very strange. thanks for the link to the correct thread. right now i mostly needed the link to the vid on how-to remove the radio which i now have. going to show it to my brother to see if he is willing to take this on. i'm pretty good with computer but most car stuff is way above my pay grade.

It could be the images are no longer hosted at the site they once were or your internet access is limited. Are you browsing from work by chance where some sites may be blocked?

i've discovered viewing is different on my phone. for instance, when i phone view the thread BillG linked to there's a spot where a vid link is referenced and see it on my phone. viewing the same point on my desktop there's just a few blank lines in that same spot. same with some images where the links are still valid.

Ah, that makes sense. Perhaps the required plug-in to view the video is not available on your hand held device. Glad you figured it out.

I think a lot of it has to do with browser as well. A switch between firefox and chromium on my end has resulted in certain images being view-able that weren't in the other browser. I know for a while chromium was showing a grayed out patch when I'd try to click on an image to make it larger and no way to close other than to go pack to the previous page. I keep multiple browsers available on my system just for the reason that some sites just don't like certain browsers. I know some sites say "best viewed using......." Does this site have a preferred browser?

It must. i rarely use FF but i fired it up and it sees the thread i need just fine on my desktop. probably haven't opened Firefox in over a year as usually Safari or Chrome resolves issues. not this time. FF for this forum it is! thanks!
