Starting yesterday, my Volt no longer will play any music that I have on the flash drive connected to one of the USB port. I can browse all the songs on the flash drive, but when I click the play button, it seems to skip few seconds, but does not play it and the play button stays play button. When I click on the next button, it does not go to the next song. The flash drive was fine 2 days ago, I was able to play the songs on it. If the media player can see the songs, this would indicate that the flash drive is ok and not corrupted. After fiddling a while last night, it did finally play songs. Today, it won't play again. Should I take it in to Chevrolet for service?

Have you tried playing the mp3 files in a computer to confirm it's the car and not the USB stick going bad?

Agree with"kindofblue" you should check on a computer to verify that files are not corrupt.

Also, please let us know the type of drive and size that you use. There have baan a few post identifying that some nano thumb USB 3.0 drive were running extremely hot and data was getting lost. Ive been using a 32gb sandisk nano usb 2.0 drive for over a year with no issues.

make another one and try it out- or try a smart phone in that car port - does the phone charge and and can see the music on the phone.

False alarm, guys. It started to work normally again yesterday afternoon. It freaked me out for 2 days it would not work. So all's well, and thanks to all who responded with helpful suggestions.
