I just got a Galaxy S6 to replace my iPhone 5S (I know I'm behind on the latest trends...), but I just noticed that when I plug the Galaxy into my 2012 Volt's USB port (pre-MyLink radio), it does not recognize it as a media device like the iPhone. It also does not do music via bluetooth, only phone calls, but the iPhone was the same thing.

I was trying to avoid having to use the AUX cable. Has anyone figured out how to make it work?

Thanks

Not sure about the 2012 and bluetooth, but in my experience the Volt is very particular about the USB cable you use. It has to be a charge/sync cable, or there is a good chance it will not work right.

You say 2012 has this problem, how about the 2013?
2013 and up got MyLink, which has bluetooth calls and music. I think a few late production 2012s got MyLink too, so those should do it as well, but the vast majority can't. IIRC, 2014's version can also read texts to you, but 2013 definitely can't. Then in gen2, 2016+ got Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
