ANy info on how i can get the extended power train warranty would be great since the voltec 8 years 100k miles seems to be battery only.

Also any recommendations on the best year to get looking at 13-15 but a little worried if I have a problem this will be the first vehicle I might no be capable of easily or cheaply fix

I am Anthony new to the forums previously have been working on turbo 1994 supra and 2006 subaru spec b now trying to get one of these after selling my supra. I live in WV and would appreciate any help or experiences you guys could share.

Thanks,
Anthony

An extended warranty is like gambling against the casino, the odds are against you. You'll likely end up getting little use of the expensive coverage.

Generally, you can buy an extended warranty during the first 12 months at the "new" car rate, after that it's based on a higher "used" car rate. I think if the car is over 3 years/36k miles an extended B2B warranty is not available. I'm not sure anyone offers an extension on the Voltec system after the 8 year/100k miles are up.

I would strongly advise against a third-party aftermarket extended warranty. While they certainly can be useful, they require STRICT adherence to a set of terms and conditions and actively look to deny claims for any and all reasons.

Full disclosure - when I purchased my Volt in 2016, I opted for extended coverage from the dealer/GM which has already come in handy so they are not all bad - I would just avoid the aftermarket ones.
