So, I have been using the cadillac app just like the volt's to open/lock/pre condition the car when low and behold it said I have to upgrade to the $15/mo subscription. I imagine there was a free trial period when I obtained the car. I think they tried the same crap with the chevy app but changed it later. So there is no other way to use the app w/o paying 15/mo. Any other options that anyone knows? Complaining to corporate?

When did you purchase your Cadillac vehicle? GM OnStar plans in the US and Canada changed beginning on May 1, 2018. The Basic Plan now extends from 5 years to 10 years but remote access are no longer available with the Basic Plan. You would need, at a minimum, to subscribe to the $15 ($14.99) Remote Access Package (there is 16.67% discount when you pre-pay $149.90 for 12 months of the Remote Access Package, net cost is $12.49 per month.)

Yeah, I just stumbled on this today in the Gen II forums. Looks like I have 1 month trial subscription to Onstar after buying my ELR last month. Too bad but it's not worth $15/mo to me. It was nice to precondition my car here in Florida or show others how awesome some of these GM ev's are.
