Buick lists the EREV and other propulsion technologies are coming to China:

http://media.gm.com/media/cn/en/bui...-Propulsion-Technologies-Coming-to-China.html

"EREV combines GM's patented EVT electronic controlled intelligent variable transmission, double high-performance, permanent-magnet electric motors drive unit, a hybrid-exclusive direct injection engine, as well as an industry-leading liquid-cooled and high-performance ternary lithium battery pack.

The pure electric driving mode is prioritized to meet daily user demand for zero emissions and fuel consumption, with the electric driving range surpassing an estimated 100 km. In EREV mode, which leverages an on-board engine, the range increases to an estimated 700 km. This eliminates so-called “range anxiety” and opens a new chapter for inner-city mobility."

I have searched several GM (including Buick China) web pages for more details, but I didn't find any. Maybe in the following months, GM and Buick will reveal more. This is part of the new "Buick Blue Stragedy".

So about 62 miles based on some test criteria. Sounds like it could be similar to the Gen2 Volt drive train.

Agree, their description perfectly describes the Voltec propulsion unit. The range however is significantly greater, wonder if that's due to optimistic test requirements of a bigger battery. Would be nice to see the Volt get a bump in range.

Range estimate is on the Chinese test cycle.
Correct, also the EPA testing changed to more aggressive driving to simulate more real world conditions for MY17 but even the MY16 Volt was advertised under the lower MPG/Range MY17 numbers I suppose for uniformity...If you don't speed, never step on the accelerator more than 10% and don't use HVAC, you'll easily beat the MY17 EPA #s on most any vehicle including the ICE Hellcat...lol
