The Firebird III Prototypes - designer Norm James

Like a proud parent, GM VP of Styling Harley Earl
poses with the whole family of gas turbine-powered
concept cars he had conjured up when the
Firebird III was being tested at General Motors's
Mesa, Arizona, proving grounds in 1958.

Yikes, you've missed the prettiest one of all-and still looking great, the Chevy Monza GT, a Corvair- based beauty now appearing in the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. Add Volt EV mods and take reservations.....

1958 GM Firebird III
That's stot at the GM Tech Center. While working on that side of the tracks in the early 90s, it was no uncommon to see old cars like that taking a stroll around the lake. I did see Firebird I, II or III (can't recall) driving around during a summer work day. It was pretty cool :)
