We were driven no down the highway in traffic and all of a sudden we got chimes, red parking brake light, "service Stabilitrack" in DIC, and the brake pedal locked/lost power assist. The pedal stayed locked for several minutes until we jammed it and kinda "shook it loose". Brake function came back to normal but a white "Brake" light remains lit in the DIC.
Sound familiar to anyone?

I took it in and the service report says the following:

Cause: Retrieve P2299 ABD 4418549
Remove tie strap from brake pedal assembly

Brake pedal clicking or squeaking noise Bulletins # 16-NA-049 and 16-NA-147

This would be slightly humorous If ALL the GM service dept did was to simply cut the tie strap off your brake pedal to address the above service bulletin and then call the issue resolved since a tie strap wouldn't be responsible for generating any CEL codes!?

BTW: P2299 seems to be a generic Brake Pedal Position (BPP) DTC code...
