Careful now, enough sightings and you'll trade up your Volt too. I did*.

*the misfire was the real reason I traded my Volt.

I posted about my first Bolt sighting five days ago and I already spotted my second one yesterday at 7-Eleven. Isn't that the way it always goes. It was from Florida and I was tempted to ask if they had trouble charging on the way. But they might think it odd that a stranger would come up and ask about charging their car. My local Chevy dealer has a whole row of Bolts. In reply to quirkysquirt. I like my Volt fine and expect to like for many years in the future. The only advantage I see of a Bolt is the roomy rear seat and that isn't a problem for me. Also the elevated riding position could be nice. I expect the whole driving experience is much different from a Volt, which is sort of "cozy".

You absolutely should have asked. It's the type of real world question that is very pertinent to making EV's practical. Especially those that aren't Tesla with their vast supercharger network. I've only seen one Bolt in the wild so far outside of what they have parked on the lot at the local Chevy dealership. I know with some of my longer distance drives the Bolt would either make it on a full charge (LA and back, hopefully) or Vegas with a stop midway to add a little charge in Barstow. Otherwise the battery range of the Volt meets my daily needs. I would definitely be worried to take it on longer trips without plenty of planning on primary and secondary charging options in the event charging isn't available at preferred locations. I'm pretty sure the Bolt has nav built in as an option, but those that have one, can you comment on if it does offer a list of charging stations in the POI? Of course I know those are constantly updated, but I think that should definitely be included in the nav options.

Florida to Utah in a BEV is obviously a trip in which charging was the primary consideration, and I have no doubt that they put quite a lot of thought into it. I'd be very surprised if they wouldn't share their experience quite enthusiastically.
I'd be surprised if wasn't towed behind an RV. I know its getting better, but the number of high speed charging stations makes me doubt it was driven from Florida. But, I would like to be proven wrong on this one.

I haven't figured out how to make a new post unrelated to existing posts so if anyone can help with that it would be appreciated. I'd like to start a new conversation.
It's simple. Click on Forum. Click on the forum you want, and at the top of the page click on +Post New Thread.
