Might have to pull a trigger on the Bolt sooner than later.... I've never had the opportunity to use one of these... I presume they are fairly legit or does one run into issues springing them on a dealer at the end of price negotiations?

It's a "private" offer for a reason -- you bring it out at the end of the negotiations, after you've agreed on a price. Use it like "cash" from GM--don't let the dealer act like "you're already getting $XXXXX off" and making it seem like your private offer is a "discount" or something. It's not, it's money from GM to you for your purchase. The negotiation with the dealer is entirely separate.

If his is like the one I got, it is for $3,000 on the Bolt and others and up to $5,000 on a Vette.

I've seen different reports on different forums as to whether these PO's stack with any other offers. Great if they do but GM isn't being as liberal in general with discounts as they were when the website PO's were active.

Yep that's the one $3,000. I had gotten the test drive w/$50 gift card and a $500 offer last month for an Equinox '18. As for how to get them, no idea, just showed up in the mail. I am registered with a couple Chevy dealers from service in the past and on mailing list for a few vehicles from GM, and go so far as to write GM on occasion asking when they are going to put more vehicles with Plugs on them, in effort to be a squeaky wheel.

Is there an expiration date on those (I assume so)?

Portland Oregon Wentworth Chevrolet is offering $5,000 off MSRP on 2017 Volts. With the $3,000 GM offer,
if it is stackable, that a new 2017 Volt around $26,000, and with the Fed Tax Credit, $18,500. Heck of a deal.

My experience with a private offer on a Bolt.

I just got back from using it to buy a Bolt. I got the price down from $43,965 to $39,993, and then mentioned that I had a $3k offer, and the dealer honored it, no problem. So, it went from $43,965 to $36,993, or almost $7k.

I also received one of these and I won't be using it. Can I give it to someone here on the forums?
The one that I got said it was not transferable, but could be used by anyone in the household. Proof of residential address would be required!
