Wow, very cool! Still surprising to me that Canada can get them before CA, OR, or even MI... Any chance someone in the DMV just confused Volts with Bolts?? ;)

I bet Canada requires any imported cars to be registered, even if they aren't being sold to customers. So Canada had 3 Bolts roll in for perhaps dealer training/promotional purposes. We would have heard if some regular Joe like us was driving around in a Bolt already. :p

GM Head Office in Oshawa, ON has two Bolts on display apparently in their front doors. Could be that + they were using one for some Media as well.

Well I do know that GM of Canada's Canadian Regional Engineering Centre has played a critical role in many aspects of GM's electrification efforts and continues to do so.

As far as these 3 Bolts being GMs I can say that the typical operational policy is to use special manufacturer's tags/plates for things like media units and in-house demonstrators. These won't be reported to state or provincial bodies as consumer level registrations as this data is apparently supposed to allege (according to the article).

But the reality is we just don't know what these 3 Bolts are all about, but we already know that there were Canadian members here that had ordered their Bolts back a few weeks ago already. So we just don't know for certain what the Canadian Bolt rollout plans and allotments look like as I personally haven't seen anything in the form of an official public statement just yet.

A co worker bought one and he said his production week is Dec 17th or something like that...the dealer told him he thought he would be the first or one of the first to get delivery in canada, so I guess he's one of those three listed?

I should send some pics when he gets his. We recently put in 4x charging stations at work, and they will now be fully occupied with 2x Gen2, 1x Gen1 and 1x Bolt :)

GM should come do a story on us :)

To be on that list he'd have to be delivered to be registered with the province. (i.e. he's picked up and driving the car)

I suspect they're GM internal units that are registered as public vehicles because their manufacturer plates may only be valid in ON and they'd need to be registered with a nationally valid plate if they take them out of ON. Perhaps?

Mine is being built this week (Dec 12) along with 4 others according to my Bolt Advisor, but I'm thinking they were building for Canada last week and beyond, so I think there will be some Bolts on the road in Canada by next week. Time will tell.

Confirmed with my GM Canada contact that these 3 Bolts were pre-production versions basically used for static display.

They have more than 3 Bolts at GMCL CHQ in Oshawa .
Highly doubt that these are the same ones as they had a NVIS that was processed by the province of Ontario

GM doesn't typically permanently plate/licence pre-production units that don't regularly hit the streets, and usually haul them to static displays.
On pre-production evaluation and engineering units use a manufacturer plate (unassigned VIN) or in-transit paperwork to drive them on public roadways.
I wouldn't have posted this if I thought they were corporate units as like I said various GMCL departments have them "around" and CREC has several.

Bolt's have been spotted at various Charging Stations on Plug Share in the Greater Toronto Area, it's not just vehicles in Oshawa, where GM's Head Office is.

(That being said, with the long range of the BOLT, they still might be based 100-200km away!)
