Lost me when they said 238/40=5. I'd like to see a link to the DOT project for installing charging stations every 50mi. That's a bunch of stations.

Thi is good information for the "techies" like me and several other forum members. With this type of information details, some, including myself, see enough to attempt DIY servicing, and may even think of modifications after the warranty expires in the future. Thank you for this file!

Yeah, thanks for the tech!

I just scanned a few sections and already have questions.
You always see this reported:
Using the SAE Combo connector will charge the vehicle to approximately
80 percent of capacity in about 60 minutes.

From what? 0% SOC, not possible.... They never mention this.

And I didn't see the 'Mountain Top' charging option mentioned.

Nice that the Green Dash Top charge light makes sense and gives information now! This should have a Standard on all EV's.

EDIT: Once again they go on about '1 Pedal' driving for 'Max Regen', with no mention of using the brake pedal in D to get Max Regen,,
(if that's how it works. Still waiting on a driver report. sorry to beat this horse again, but it is a feature that the 'Other' +200 mi. EV does not have!)

Thanks again!

A few thoughts here. First, the alternative fueling corridors were designated back in November (after a July Federal Register notice) but do not specifically include chargers, just corridor desginations and signing standards I tried to link to them but my post count is too few. You can google "alternative fueling corridors fhwa" and it will bring up the page, along with maps. For instance, Missouri designated nearly all of it's interstate system. Unfortunately, some states didn't even bother.

The corridor designations extend not just to EV's but also Fuel Cell, LNG, Propane vehicles. The designations go hand in hand with the Obama administration's July announcement releasing $4.5B in loan guarantees for EV charging infrastructure. Again, can't post the link due to my post count but it's out there. Hopefully, some of the charging companies will work to expand the infrastructure (DCFC) in areas where it is non-existent.

About the division, they would've been better off to say "nearly 6 x the amount of the average daily commute" instead of five.

A must read and document for any new Bolt owners. I recall reading the mention of installing DCFC charging station every 50 miles some years ago over on the Tesla Forum when their SC network was in its infancy. The comments were typical of Tesla owners at the time (and to be honest even today) they were sceptical of the federal government doing any such thing.

That was back in 2013 as I recall. 4 years later and how far along are we?

Yea, unlike some other EV OEMs that often skirt around the edges of their specifications, GM get's hammered whrn they do so. As such they tend to be more conservative in most all of the "numbers" and would rather under-promise then over-deliver ;)
Thanks WOT.
Actually I changed the link to a more complete PDF
You might want to double back ;)

And with the highway rating being 217, the statement 5x is true for all rated values.
'Nearly six' would not be.
'Over 5 times' would be acceptable to me without being misleading or misinterpreted at all.
