We have been allocated 144 Bolt Ev so far and have about 100 deposits. I am sure not all people will take advantage so in theory we have 44 slots still open. These Bolt EV should all be delivered in next two months.
If you send a deposit please make sure your mane and phone number as well as an email is on your $500.00 Check

But I like my mane. Has sentimental value.

I am in Michigan and have some questions:

1) I heard conflicting information about state sales tax. If I purchase the car from you to be titled in MI, do you have a reciprocating agreement to charge me only the MI tax? Some states around MI, when you buy a car from them (OH, NY, IL, IN) will charge the MI tax and forward it to MI. Other states I have bought in didn't charge me anything but when I went to register it I had to pay the 6%.

2) Are transit plates available (e.g. 7, 10 or 14 day) to drive it back home and get it registered here?

3) Are there any issues with GM that you are aware of with regard to buying in CA and taking it to another state (other than I might not be able to get it serviced if the dealer is not a Bolt-certified service center yet)?

Thanks

Frank

Frank-

I did this a few years ago while I lived in Colorado.
To avoid CA sales tax, you must take physical possesion outside the state.
In my case, the CA dealer's rep drove my new car to the Nevada state line.
We met at the state line casino that also has a notary public at the hotel.
I handed over the check, and he handed over the keys in front of the witness.
My mother drove me to the state line, and then drove the dealer rep back.
I continued my trip in my new car (unavailable in Colorado) back to CO where I paid normal CO tax.

I was given transit tags that were really short, 5 days I think.

CA is strict. You are not allowed to drive a single mile (in the state) without paying sales tax.

I suppose you could trailer it. But since my mother lives in CA and could play taxi driver this was best for me.

Wow. OK. Guess I won't consider going that route. The thought was to purchase it there, get temp tags, drive it around CA for a week, then have it shipped to MI (since getting it back w/o an ICE would be tricky.

Thanks for the info!

Bought my 2016 Volt a year ago from Keyes in California. Had it shipped to me in Georgia. Paid only Georgia sales tax when I had it registered locally in Georgia. No California sales tax charged because I took delivery of the vehicle in Georgia.

Do you remember how much you paid for the transport?

Thanks...

I picked up my leased Volt from Keyes directly. That was another method to avoiding California sales tax, as lease tax applies to where it is registered. So I picked up at the dealership and drove home with a one way permit and licensed it myself.

Just received first reply from a California dealer about Costco pricing. Offered me Bolt premier with driver confidence package II and DCFC...MSRP $43,510. Costco price, $42,793.85. So $1000 off of retail, offered from Rydell is better!

I am sorry have I priced a unit with you bro1999? I do not think I did nor with anyone else. I have been offered all sorts of deals to move people to front of line and yes as much as 5000 over, but we have declined any deals until today when I announced we would be pre-selling them. No problem ripping your check up. You spreading bad information of me is pathetic. Like I told you many times I did not have pricing yet you seem to have issue. I assume you must have cut some deal with one of my competitors or work for them to lie all over the internet. Best of luck and I would hope the moderator blocks you as you have used my name and may be costing us business by your actions. I think my reputation of selling 3000 Volts from this forum and no not all agree all the time, but I think my reputation is pretty sound. I do answer comments like this because those who bully on these sites disturb me.

Explain this, Ricky Bobby. Guy Richardson is a sales rep at Keyes Chevy.

For anyone that can't load the image, the sales rep says "I'm dealing with a GM/owner that wants over sticker" for a Bolt. Stop playing the victim Rick. No one is buying it.

Go collect your commission from the other store or whatever motive you have to bash. Your BS and lies of what are others are doing make the Grimm Fairy tales look like a Novel. I will stick to helping other get what they want while you spend your time bashing others. Again with 3000 plus sales off this Forum you have to look pretty hard to find a complaint. Not bad in our industry.

I wish you the best.

Notice how Ricky here doesn't ever deny he's looking to sell for over MSRP. He's been asked in multiple threads to guarantee MSRP or under, and he has refused to acknowledge that. Anyone that is planning to buy a Bolt from Keyes, keep your guard up.
