New 2017 Volt owner with ACC. I would like to blackout the bowties (replace or modify). I assume I am out of luck on the front bowtie because of the ACC.

Any experience, photos, videos or guidance on options and mod process? Again, assuming on the rear badge is in play for mod.

I used a "carbon fiber" tape I got from AutoZone. Carefully cleaned the bow tie and cut a piece just a bit larger than needed.
I then used a heat gun to gently soften the tape just a smidge and then cut the outline with an X-Acto blade (while on the vehicle).

I plasti-dipped the top emblem section and it does not effect the ACC.

You could test it for yourself since it can be peeled off without harming anything.

Go to any instant sign shop and buy a scrap of 'High Performance' (3M or equal) black vinyl (gloss or matte) Clean the area, spray with water containing one drop of detergent and squeegee with a plastic tool from the sign shop. (the water permits you to move the piece around without it sticking)

Did you have any issues with it sticking? So the surface of the emblem isn't smooth, it's rough, dimpled, not sure exactly what is the exact wording. I was thinking of doing the exact mod you did, but was concerned that the glue wouldn't fully adhere due to the texturing, leaving small areas under the glue where it didn't attach to the surface. Did you feel like you got a good bond?
