My preference would be for both the Volt and a voltec crossover to be in the mix, but if it's one or the other, then I can understand GM going for the crossover.

Well Chevy, that would just push me harder to the Tesla. Love my Volt and never want to go back to full ICE.
Tesla Model 3 isn't as useful as the Chevy Bolt for cargo spaces and roomier cabin. However, TM3 and Chevy Bolt are pure EV's which doesn't fit my driving profile. I hope they deliver the CrossVolt very soon and I'll buy it as my second vehicle.

I have no idea but the original story seems to have been debunked. For example, the story said the Cadillac CT6 was included in the group of sedans which might be discontinued but Cadillac has said that's not happening. I don't, however, see what the big deal would be. The Volt isn't a sports car. It's a hatch. And a CUV is simply a hatch with a higher stance.

They are talking about possibly discontinuing in 2022, and replacing with a CUV variant.

No need to get all alarmist, the Volt is not going away anytime soon! :)
