Removing the fuel tank on a gen 1 volt looks easy but you have to remove the rear axle to get the tank out. I have replaced one fuel pump, which you have to remove the tank. As far as replacing the tank with a Cruze tank, it would not fit or work with the pressurized evap system on the Volt. You are stuck with the smaller fuel tank.
Anyone swap the big 2011 Gas tank into a newer volt
It looks pretty wide open under there.
Does anyone know of any issues swapping a 2011 Volt gas tank into a 2013?
I do a lot of long distance road trips and a couple more gallons would be helpful
