My dealer sent me the VIN. They've been less than helpful with delivery estimates, is there any way I can use the VIN to check what the status is with GM?

I believe there was a post, back at the end of 2016, which described how to get the order-build-ship status codes. In Canada, go to www.chevrolet.ca and find the live chat link (top of page) and with your order number (6 alpha-numeric string -- get it from your salesman), ask for status and event code.
eg: code 3400 means order is built and VIN assigned. Code 4V03 gives estimated delivery date, Code 4200 means vehicle shipped, etc.

A few of the dealers in Calgary Alberta have Bolt orders placed for estimated mid-Dec delivery. One has the VIN assigned.

Thanks for this. I didn't get an update yet, but I did chat with someone who said he'd email it & gave me the order # based on the VIN - he suggested I use the order # when checking in the future.

This was so useful. Shocker: The dealer was lying about status.
