Hey all, I'm a 2013 Volt owner but I need a car which is better for hauling a 70 lb dog around. Ideally something with a cargo area that is separated from the passenger area by a net or divider. I know there are third party options but I'd prefer something OEM as the third party offerings aren't great IMHO. The Audi Q5, Mercedes and Range Rover SUVs offer them as a factory option.

Does the Bolt offer any cargo divider/net type options? I couldn't find anything on the GM site. You can typically tell if there are attachment points in the headliner for this accessory.

Here's an example of an OEM cargo divider for the Porsche Macan SUV. This would work perfectly to discourage my dog from climbing up front with me, and may also offer some protection in a crash.

There is a factory net that goes horizontal from top of the backseats, which is removable.

But there is only a space between the rear headrests, which is about 9" vertically by 16" sideways, and I am not sure if a large dog could climb through that. It would depend on how desperate the dog is. Maybe he would be content to look out the rear window and/or peer over the seats.

You can also take out the floor shelf, so the dog has more room there. That lowers the floor by about 8" I think.

If you get the Premiere version, with the rear mirror camera, then you could put something that blocks the space between the headrests, and still see what is behind the car with the rear mirror display.

Love that Porsche solution. I use a 4 post pet divider I bought from Orvis in our Equinox. For the most part it's noise free, but it does loosen after a few weeks and needs to be tightened to stop a rattle.

Oh well the things we do for our pets.
