I got my Android Auto setup in my Bolt the other day, but I noticed that the display has a ~1 inch black margin on both sides....it does not stretch out to "fill" the entire screen. Is this supposed to happen? I've read Apple Carplay users report their displays stretch out across the entire screen.

Same issue here. I tried going into Developer mode and selected 720P but no joy.

It completely fills out the display on my Volt... It almost looks like they did not rescale it for the larger screen in the Bolt.

Could be an aspect ratio issue. The Bolt keeps the strip of controls active along the bottom of the screen, and that means that the remainder of the screen that's available for Android Auto isn't the same aspect ratio as the phone. Therefore you get "letterboxing", the same thing that happens when you show old 4:3 TV shows on a 16:9 HD screen.
